What is Tekken?

Tekken is a series of fighting games developed and published by Namco. Originally an arcade game, versions exist for the PlayStation consoles and portable, Xbox 360, and Game Boy Advance. The story in each game in the series documents the events of the fictional martial arts tournament, The King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Feng Wei - Tekken Defensive Moves Explained

Feng Wei Defense
Feng Wei's Kenpo Double Parry

Feng Wei is a great defensive character. He has the Kenpo Double Parry move that blocks two high or mid moves in succession and then counters with a damaging move. This move also wall splats an opponent which makes for some good wall combos to finish the kill =).

You can perform Feng Wei's Kenpo Double Parry move whenever you expect your opponent to hit you with a two or more hit high-mid combo move. The special characteristic of this move is it also parries high and mid-hitting UNBLOCKABLE moves.

Best used against:

1. Characters with high/mid punch combos such as Steve Fox, Paul Phoenix, Jin Kazama. I even nailed a Bruce Irvin user when he tried Bruce's Double Elbow (down/forward RP, RP) which cannot be "reversed" by the way.

2. Unblockable punch and kick moves. This is a high level move. You have to know at what frame the double parry should be executed.

Feng Wei also has a punch reversal for countering high and mid punches. To perform a reversal press Backward + LP + LK or Backward + RP + RK during the frames of execution wherein you'd expect to be hit by a high or mid punch. Don't expect your opponent to successfully "chicken" this move because it is "unchickenable". Your opponent cannot escape Feng Wei's punch reversal.

Best used against:

1. Characters with slow high/mid punch combos such as Paul Phoenix, Kuma, and Craig Marduk. The first and last punches of a combo are the best times to execute a reversal.

2. Unblockable punch moves only. This is a high level move. You have to know at what frame the punch reversal should be executed. I have won several times against a Paul Phoenix player because this player thought that he can win a game by spamming Paul's unblockable move. ;-)

Take note that this is a PUNCH reversal only. You cannot reverse KICKS, ELBOWS, and KNEES.

Hope that explains some of Feng Wei's defensive moves.
